Did you know? The cobblestone streets of Old San J Did you know? The cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico are blue! The stones were cast from furnace waste (iron slag) used as ballast by Spanish and European ships that arrived in the 18th and 19th centuries. Over time and with much high-pressure wear, the cobblestones developed their unique blue patina. Looks like the yellow brick road has some competition… 😀
